Denise Burkitt

Denise, a lifelong lover of art, followed her passion from finger painting in Kindergarten to studying Commercial Illustration and Visual Arts. She embarked on a diverse journey, including teaching workshops on block printing, running a hand-painted garment business, and making a mark in the real estate industry with her creative marketing approach. Despite these detours, her constant passion for designing on fabric remained.

In 1998, Denise traveled to India to have her block printed designs screen printed on fabric, an endeavor she continued alongside her full-time job. After 21 years in real estate, she embarked on a solo art-filled journey around Australia, realizing she was on "One Big Art Excursion."

Today, Denise calls the Sunshine Coast in Australia her home base and studio. She travels frequently, painting in natural environments that inspire her most. As a designer for FreeSpirit since 2018, she feels fulfilled in sharing her vibrant, organic, and large-scale designs and regularly teaches workshops to spread her love for hand painting on fabric.
