Snow Leopard Designs

Snow Leopard Designs, the brainchild of Philip Jacobs, serves as his second brand for FreeSpirit Fabrics, alongside The Kaffe Fassett Collective where he collaborates with Kaffe, Brandon, and Liza. With studios in Dorset and London, Philip specializes in creating exquisitely designed collections inspired by the rich cultures of far-flung lands, distant mountains, and valleys, as well as the timeless beauty of traditional florals.

At the heart of Snow Leopard is a vast archive that houses a treasure trove of antique designs, fabrics, prints, and paintings. These remarkable artifacts serve as a wellspring of inspiration for the captivating collections. Among the archive's treasures are sumptuous 19th-century English and French floral chintzes, wallpapers, and paintings, as well as silk brocades and murals from China and Tibet. The collection also encompasses 19th-century Japanese woodblock prints, featuring works by renowned masters such as Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Kuniyoshi. Additionally, the archive boasts a wide range of 19th-century English botanical illustrations created by Victorian explorers and plant hunters, alongside exquisite fabrics and rugs from the Middle East.

Each design within Snow Leopard is meticulously hand-painted and colored in the studios, encompassing both traditional and contemporary styles. This approach ensures the preservation of artistic traditions from the past while catering to the evolving design needs of the future.
